Ethnic Profiling

In the past three years, reports of ethnic profiling, discrimination, harassment, and abuse of Tigrayans by Ethiopian officials have been rampant. However, ethnic profiling and ethnic-based attacks on Tigrayans have considerably intensified since the war on Tigray, including termination from employment on account of ethnicity, discrimination at work and public places, arbitrary arrests, and unlawful confiscation of personal property. Due to the Federal Government’s decision to freeze bank accounts opened by Tigrayans, millions have been cash strapped. The following list provides examples of ethnic profiling that have taken place.
